Panna Akter, a distinguished student of Musa Mia Buddhi Bikash School, established on the initiative of the Jahedi Foundation, has brought special honour. On the occasion of the 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the 27th National Disability Day 2025, she has been selected in the “Successful Person with Special Needs” category.
At a discussion meeting and award ceremony held in Dhaka on 3 December, organized by the National Foundation for the Development of the Disabled, she was conferred this special honour.
Sharmin S. Murshid, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, handed over the crest, certificate, and cash prize to Panna Akter.

Earlier, another bright student of Musa Mia Buddhi Bikash School, Naimur Rahman Sajib, was selected in the “Successful Person with Special Needs” category in 2022. The talented students of Musa Mia Buddhi Bikash School have been consistently achieving success at both national and international levels.In 2023, at the Special Olympics held in Berlin, Germany, representing Bangladesh, Panna Akter won three gold medals and Israt Jahan Jhumur won one bronze medal.
In 2025, at the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Badminton held in Malaysia, representing the Bangladesh team, Naimur Rahman Sangi won one gold and one silver medal, while Panna won three gold medals.

Musa Mia Buddhi Bikash School, run completely free of cost under the funding and overall supervision of the Jahedi Foundation, has long been working tirelessly in Jhenaidah for the education and development of children with special needs. The school’s activities are conducted under close supervision not only to provide education to children with special needs, but also to bring them back into the mainstream of society. As a result, two currently enrolled students have now been selected in the “Successful Person with Special Needs” category.
