Eid-ul-Adha
The holy Eid-ul-Adha is a special occasion for every well off Muslim to sacrifice their beloved things. On the other hand, it is also a wonderful event to share the joy of Eid with the poor and poor families of the society. This joyous arrangement is very well known to Jhenaidah residents. As a part of the poverty alleviation programme from the society, Zahedee Foundation has been organizing this grand Sacrificing ceremony uninterruptedly since 2011. Not only in Jhenaidah, various parts of Bangladesh such as Dhaka, Jashore, Faridpur, Ukhiya are also included as the beneficiary areas. Every year around 200 animals are sacrificed that lead to benefiting around 20,000 under privileged families.
Before Eid, the formal activities started by selecting the known poor families and distributing the cards. Before Eid, Kubani animals (cows and goats) selected from the market are bought and kept carefully under the huge chawni. The main program of meat distribution started in an orderly manner from the second day of Eid under the supervision of volunteers of Zahedee Foundation.
