Emergency food support to destitute Rohingya people
In 2017 thousands of Rohingya people fled from Mayanmar to Bangladesh to save their lives from the state sponsored persecution and this great exodus contributed immediate humanitarian crisis in the Bangladesh- Mayanmar border area. Zahedee Foundation had arranged 550 tons of food, installed 100 tube wells and 75 Latrines, and also distributed 10,000 Blankets as an immediate help to mitigate the crisis. Later with the help of Zahedee Foundation a kitchen was set up which was able to cook for 16,000 people every day.
Open Kitchen for the Deprived People-2020:
Zahedee Foundation and Radiant have extended support to the affected families in this pandemic situation. Radiant has provided cooked food door to door for those who could not go out for work due to lockdown during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as from before Ramadan. About 200-250 people were reached daily during the Covid-19 situation.
Distribution of Food in Kurmitola General Hospital -2020:
Cooked food was distributed among the staff of Kurmitola General Hospital which has been declared for Covid-19 treatment by the Government of Bangladesh. The food support has been provided for 800 personnel including their doctors, nurses and other affiliated staff. The distribution process started on 18th April and continued for about 6 weeks during the entire Ramadan period mainly for Sehri, Iftar and dinner. RAOWA Club has provided logistic support to the food e.g preparation of food and supplying the same arrangements amongst the employees (doctors, nurses and staff). Radiant has also provided other supports like PPE, goggles and other protective equipment.
