Emergency food support to destitute Rohingya people
In 2017 thousands of Rohingya people fled from Mayanmar to save their lives from the state sponsored persecution to Bangladesh and this great exodus contributed immediate humanitarian crisis in the Bangladesh- Mayanmar border area. Zahedee Foundation had arranged 550 tons of food, installed 100 tube wells and 75 Latrines, and also distributed 10,000 Blankets as an immediate help to mitigate the crisis. Later with the help of Zahedee Foundation a kitchen was set up which was able to cook for 16,000 people every day.
Blanket Distribution
Zahedee Foundation has been distributing warm blankets to cold-shivering people in every winter season since 2011. Every year about 10,000 blankets are being distributed to the poor people in different places of Bangladesh.
Contributions of Zahedee Foundation During The Pandemic Situation
In this world-wide Pandemic situation, a country like Bangladesh has been in tremendous crisis due to the shortage of treatment equipment and hospital facility. The most alarming part was that doctors and nurses who were frontline fighters didn’t get adequate safety precautionary equipment/items. The honorable Chairman of Radiant immediately reacted to the crisis with the best of his ability and extended his full support in different parts of the country. The initiatives are still ongoing and some of the events/activities are highlighted here:
Equipping Doctors and Nurses of Different Hospitals with Safety and Protection Equipment:
Radiant has distributed a large number of protection equipment like standard PPE, masks, hand sanitizer, goggles etc. to different hospitals and healthcare personnel during the pandemic. As part of this initiative, all upazila health complexes in the district of Jhenaidah were covered. These gifts were given in three different phases.
Zahedee Foundation Initiative of Distributing Safety Equipment all over Bangladesh:
Zahedee Foundation has acted very promptly from the very beginning of the pandemic. Even at the primary stage, Zahedee Foundation proactively and thoroughly ensured the safety of its own employees. However, when the situation was deteriorating Radiant did not hesitate to devote at its optimal capacity to contribute for the nation as a whole in different parts of the country. The intention and efforts for serving the distressed/affected families are still continuing and if required Zahedee Foundastion is prepared to fight this battle with all its capabilities to support the Government, as well as to aid the underprivileged people who requires a supportive umbrella to sustain during this disaster period.

Open Kitchen for the Deprived People:
Zahedee Foundation and Radiant have extended support to the affected families in this pandemic situation. Radiant has provided cooked food door to door for those who could not go out for work due to lockdown during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as from before Ramadan. About 200-250 people were reached daily during the Covid-19 situation.
Donating Food Package to DC and Police Super of Jhenaidah District to Continue Food Support For The Underprivileged People:
Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jhenaidah inaugurated the food distribution program of Zahedee Foundation in the month of May 2020. The Deputy Commissioner and the Police Super were given a total of 1,000 food packets to distribute by their official staffs.
Distribution of Food in Kurmitola General Hospital:
Cooked food was distributed among the staff of Kurmitola General Hospital which has been declared for Covid-19 treatment by the Government of Bangladesh. The food support has been provided for 800 personnel including their doctors, nurses and other affiliated staff. The distribution process started on 18th April and continued for about 6 weeks during the entire Ramadan period mainly for Sehri, Iftar and dinner. RAOWA Club has provided logistic support to the food e.g preparation of food and supplying the same arrangements amongst the employees (doctors, nurses and staff). Radiant has also provided other supports like PPE, goggles and other protective equipment.
